Good luck,
the end of
an evening spent
in stretching the body
as far as it will go,
helping the fragile willow
find a strength
in its branches
that will weather the
highest of storms,
a greeting to a being
that might be holy,
though bound
to the far from celestial
weary resilience
of earth-bound creatures,
speaking to an avatar
of some
terrestrial divinity –
really, it's our version
of 'may the Force be with you'.

and unbreakably whole
you make me believe in
my make-believe soul
come back to me

He marvelled wistfully at the transformation as he drove through the outskirts towards the shop… where Lorelei would be waiting. She always was.
Where once there had been rolling meadows and farmland, now Kael sped past pool supply stores, fast food joints,

HA -- the Star Wars reference really gets you at the end. Such a great contrast to the rest of the piece, which is truly lovely. I love how you opened it with "Good luck"; it piques our curiosity right away. You are a very talented poet! Looking forward to seeing more from you!
